Stephen H. Wedel is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional (CFP ®), and a CERTIFIED FUNDS SPECIALIST (CFS) with Four Seasons Wealth Management. Steve established his financial consulting practice in 1983 and is former Vice-President of the St. Louis Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning. He has written articles for various publications, including the Beacon, a publication geared to persons age 50 and older, as well as U.S. News and World Report, the Medical Business Journal, St. Louis Lawyer and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Also Registered Rep. Magazine identified Steve as one of "America’s Top 100 Independent Advisors" in 2007, and in 2008 Steve was honored to be named as a one of the top 3% Financial Advisors in St. Louis as seen in St. Louis Magazine. Steve also participated in the 2008 Yale School of Management Study.
Steve's deep sense of client responsibility is why he chose to be Independent and not represent a proprietary product chain. By keeping his true independence Steve believes that his client's best interests are preserved and promoted while removing the conflict of interest that can exist in a non-Independent environment. Steve is a dynamic and entertaining presenter, and is nationally recognized as a leading authority in Retirement Distribution Planning, a planning process that helps retirees develop investment and tax strategies seeking to optimize their retirement wealth. In addition, Steve has been asked numerous times to be a guest lecturer on estate and financial planning at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Webster University. Steve has been a featured guest on "Ask the Financial Planner" sponsored by KMOX Radio. Furthermore, Steve's expertise has been tapped several times by the St. Louis television market.
Steve graduated from Drake University in 1976 and subsequently attended the University of Iowa from 1977 - 1980 (Finance). He completed the Certified Financial Planner ™ program in 1986 through the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado and in 1995 he achieved the Certified Fund Specialist (CFS) professional designation through the Institute of Business & Finance in La Jolla, California.
